AGADEV and FGIS join forces to promote the green economy in Gabon
February 25, 2025As part of the ongoing presentation of the Agence Gabonaise pour le Développement de l’Économie Verte (AGADEV), Managing Director Scyrielle P. SENDE ETALI met Dr Gomez AGOU, Resident Representative of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Gabon, on Monday February 24, 2025.
During the exchange, Dr Gomez AGOU expressed his satisfaction and took the opportunity to congratulate the highest authorities on this initiative. The representative of the International Monetary Fund also reassured the audience of his organization’s readiness to support Gabon in developing this sector of the green economy.
Gabon receives an insufficient level of green financing despite its role as a world leader in the fight against climate change.
The IMF Representative highlighted the technical and financial support, including the Resilience and Sustainability Fund, that the IMF makes available to several African countries.
Given these possibilities, it would be a first for our country, which is a model in terms of ecosystem preservation, to benefit from IMF support in this area.
Mrs SENDE ETALI also took advantage of her visit to enquire about the IMF’s technical and financial support in the fight against the economic consequences of climate change.
The two personalities agreed to pursue their exchanges in the interests of Gabon.
